A Burdick chocolate snowman
I have been remiss in not providing my readers with where to go to purchase their chocolate. I have three excellent recommendations.
I was amazed to discover the Chocolate House in Elizabeth City. They have an excellent selection of extremely delicious handmade chocolates. They have a large selection of truffles and I would recommend the raspberry truffle or the key lime. The owners are first rate chocolatiers. The Chocolate House is on Water Street. On our trip to Asheville, we discovered the Chocolate Fetish on Haywood Street. They specialize in European style chocolate. The Ectasy truffes are to die for. We bought a box of assorted chocolates and it was hard not to eat them all before we left Asheville. Their website is:

For those of you who live a little north of North Carolina, there is Burdick Chocolates in Walpole, New Hampshire. My supervisor told me about these, she recommends them. They make little mice, pengins and snowmen. Their website is: http://www.burdickchocolate.com/
And should your chocolate craving hit when you only have a few pennies in your pocket there is always Hershey's.
